Can I legally sell my house without an agent in Australia? +
Yes. Owners can sell privately in every Australian state. There's no legal requirement to use an agent. You will need a conveyancer or property lawyer to handle the Contract of Sale, the same as if you went through an agent.
How do I get started on Propa? +
Pick a package on /packages. Listing is free. Sign in with Apple, Google, or email. The listing wizard walks you through address, details, photos, and a drafted description you can edit. Live in about 2 hours.
How much time will this take me each week? +
Setup is about 2 hours (about 1 hour on Propa Premier). Once live, expect about an hour a week replying to messages and confirming inspections on a busy listing. Quieter weeks, even less.
Does Propa work everywhere in Australia? +
Yes, every state and territory. Some hyper-rural suburbs have thinner buyer activity, so be prepared to invest a few more weeks of marketing. The strategy still works.
Can investors and trusts use Propa? +
Yes. The owner attestation has options for individuals, joint owners, companies, and trusts. We pre-fill the conveyancer-facing language so your legal rep can pick it up easily.
Who tells me how much to sell for? +
You do. We give you a guided pricing checklist, prompts to compare against recent suburb sales, and a confidence check before you publish. This is factual sales information, not advice and not an estimate of your home's value. The market sets the final number.
How does Propa actually find buyers? +
Propa publishes targeted advertising on Meta (Facebook and Instagram), within Meta's housing advertising rules, plus the Propa swipe feed for app users and an SEO-friendly public listing page. Optional weekly Boost Packs (Mini, Power, Mega) amplify the reach.
Do I have to run my own open homes? +
Yes. Inspections are private (one buyer or family at a time, by appointment) rather than open. Most owners find it easier than a Saturday morning open: you set the times that suit you and you know who's coming.
Can I also list on realestate.com.au? +
Yes. You can list privately on REA at the same time as Propa. We don't syndicate (we'd rather you choose). When we sold our own home, Propa generated more than double the views of our REA listing.
What if my home isn't selling? +
We sit with you and look at what's working. Usually one of: pricing, photos, copy, or marketing reach. Free listings get a community + email level review; Propa Premier sellers get a Propa marketer to walk you through the changes.
Is the free Listing actually free? +
Yes. $0 to list. No card needed. No auto-upgrade. We make money when sellers choose to go Propa Premier, or add a weekly Boost Pack. Plenty don't.
How do I pay for Propa Premier? +
Via our secure WooCommerce checkout on the website. Credit card, debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay. All payments go through the web, so App Store fees stay out of your pocket.
Can I get a tax invoice for a company or trust? +
Yes. Add your ABN at checkout. We send a tax-compliant invoice with GST itemised. For trusts or companies, drop us an email after purchase and we'll re-issue the invoice in the entity name.
Can I upgrade from the free Listing to Propa Premier later? +
Yes, at any time. You pay $899 once and your listing gets the upgrade immediately, listed until sold. No monthly fee, no auto-renewal.
What is Propa™ Support? +
Propa Support is help with the Propa platform and your advertising: setting up your listing, using your dashboard and enquiry inbox, and questions about your Boost Pack campaigns. It is not real estate advice, and it is not support from a licensed real estate agent. We don't advise you on price, negotiate on your behalf, or guide your sale. For legal, contract, or valuation questions, speak to a conveyancer, property lawyer, or licensed valuer.
Do I need a conveyancer or lawyer? +
Yes, same as with an agent. Your conveyancer or property lawyer drafts the Contract of Sale, runs the searches, and handles settlement. Propa is a marketing platform; we don't do legal work. Typical conveyancer fees: $800 to $1,500.
What about Section 32 (VIC), Form 23 (QLD), etc? +
State-specific disclosure documents (Section 32 in VIC, Form 23 in QLD, vendor disclosure statement in NSW, Form 1 in SA, Joint Form of General Conditions in WA) are the seller's responsibility. Your conveyancer or solicitor prepares them with you. Propa does not draft, review, or verify disclosure documents; the Disclosure Pack is owner-attested.
Are you saying Propa is not a real estate agent? +
Correct. Propa is a property marketing platform and advertising publisher. We do not act as real estate agents, we do not act on behalf of sellers, we don't negotiate sales, and we don't hold deposits. State-specific real estate laws (including any consumer protections that apply to agent conduct) remain the seller's responsibility.
Is a Propa Offer legally binding? +
A Propa Offer has the same legal weight as a paper or verbal offer (it's an informal offer, not a binding Contract of Sale). The binding contract is drafted by a conveyancer and signed by both parties.
