Both halves of this are true. If only one of them were, this page would not be worth reading.
Reach on the big portals
PropertyNow holds an agency licence, which is what lets them place your listing on realestate.com.au and domain.com.au. That is the whole product and it works: $979, flat, no commission. Propa does not put you on those portals, so if that is what you are buying, PropertyNow does it and Propa does not.
It costs nothing to start
Propa is free to start, so there is no $979 decision to make before you find out whether selling privately suits you. Premier at $899 is the cheaper full package, and it includes things PropertyNow does not: a marketer who rewrites your description, a 900 x 1200 mm photo signboard posted to you, video, inspection management, and an offer composer.

Is PropertyNow a real estate agent?
PropertyNow holds a real estate agency licence, which is how they place listings on realestate.com.au and domain.com.au. They do not act as your negotiating agent and they charge a flat fee rather than commission. Propa is not an agency: it is a marketing service, and it never acts on your behalf or holds a deposit.
Can I use Propa and PropertyNow together?
Yes. Propa does not syndicate to realestate.com.au, so a free Propa listing runs alongside a paid PropertyNow campaign without conflict. Sellers who want both usually pay PropertyNow for portal reach and use Propa for the listing page, the buyer messages and the signboard.
Which is cheaper, Propa or PropertyNow?
Propa. Listing on Propa is free, and Propa Premier is $899 one-time against PropertyNow at $979.
